Agates of the Lece Volcanic Complex (Serbia): Mineralogical and Geochemical Characteristics
Agate veins and nodules occur in the Lece Volcanic Complex (Oligocene-Miocene) situated in the south of Serbia and occupying an area of 700 km2. This volcanic complex is composed predominantly of andesites, with sporadic occurrences of andesite-basalts, dacites and latites, and features agate formations that have been very little investigated. This study focuses on five selected agate occurrences within the Lece Volcanic Complex, employing optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction analysis, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry ...Zoran Miladinović, Vladimir Simić, Nenad Nikolić, Nataša Jović Orsini, Milena Rosić. ‘Blue-’ and ‘Brown-speckled’ pottery from Qalhât, the Sultanate of Oman (13–16th centuries): Comparison with traditional Omani 19–20 century productions
Representative ‘Blue speckled’ (13–16th centuries) and ‘Brown speckled’ (13–21st century) wares recovered from the excavations in Qalhât or collected around Bahlâ city (Sultanate of Oman) were characterized by XRPD, SEM-EDS, Raman/optical microspectroscopy, and thermal expansion. Minerals present in the body (quartz, augite and albite as major phases, calcite, dolomite, rutile, anatase, phosphate, hematite and magnetite as minor phases) were identified by XRPD and/or Raman spectroscopy. SEM-EDXS microanalysis was performed on the glazes in order to compare their composition, especially ...Liliana Gianni, Hélène Renel, Aleksandar Kremenović, Philippe Colomban. Simpson's rule application for experimental determining parameters of rock mass oscillation equation at limestone
By its form, the use of explosives has a destructive character. However, energy of chemical explosives is tamed and perfected in many effects, so that is developed a series of activities which work is unthinkable without the use of explosives. In mining industry, explosives are most commonly used for exploitation in hard rock mass. Thereby, large amounts of explosives can be used, especially for mass blasting. The application of large amounts of explosives gives auspicious techno – economic indicators ...working environment, seismic effects of blasting, oscillation velocity, rock mass oscillation equation, Simpson’s ruleSuzana Lutovac, Miloš Gligorić, Jelena Majstorović, Branko Gluščević, Luka Crnogorac. The application of ArcGIS for assessing the potential of solar energy in urban area: The case of Vranje
In order to determine the solar energy potential for a specified location, it is crucial to consider the latitude, altitude, slope, terrain morphology, atmospheric conditions, etc. Such a complex calculation and mapping of solar energy can be done using the ArcGIS geoprocessing tool, named Area Solar Radiation (ASR). By using the ASR tool, supported with the adequate input data, it is possible to calculate the maximum solar radiation energy (irradiation) for a defined area and for a specified time ...... sun map sector (Diro,), with a centroid at zenith angle (0) and azimuth angle (a), is calculated using the following equation (3): Diroa = Scomt * BpmĆ) * SunDuroa * SunGapo, * cos(Angine,) (3) where: Scomst = The solar flux outside the atnosphere at the mean earth-sun distance, known as ...
