Comparison of sequential and single extraction in order to estimate environmental impact of metals from fly ash
The aim of this paper is to simulate leaching of metals from fly ash in different environmental conditions using ultrasound and microwave-assisted extraction techniques. Single-agent extraction and sequential extraction pro¬cedures were used to determine the levels of different metals leaching. The concentration of metals (Al, Fe, Mn, Cd, Co, Cr, Ni, Pb, Cu, As and Be) in fly ash extracts were measured by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. Single-agent extractions of metals were conducted at sonication times of 10, ...leteći pepeo uglja, ekstrakcija sa jednim agensom, sekvencijalna ekstrakcija, mikrotalasi, ultratalasiAleksandra Tasić, Ivana Sredović-Ignjatović, Ljubiša Ignjatović, Marija Ilić, Mališa Antić. Transformer-Based Composite Language Models for Text Evaluation and Classification
Parallel natural language processing systems were previously successfully tested on the tasks of part-of-speech tagging and authorship attribution through mini-language modeling, for which they achieved significantly better results than independent methods in the cases of seven European languages. The aim of this paper is to present the advantages of using composite language models in the processing and evaluation of texts written in arbitrary highly inflective and morphology-rich natural language, particularly Serbian. A perplexity-based dataset, the main asset for the ...Mihailo Škorić, Miloš Utvić, Ranka Stanković. Parallel Stylometric Document Embeddings with Deep Learning Based Language Models in Literary Authorship Attribution
This paper explores the effectiveness of parallel stylometric document embeddings in solving the authorship attribution task by testing a novel approach on literary texts in 7 different languages, totaling in 7051 unique 10,000-token chunks from 700 PoS and lemma annotated documents. We used these documents to produce four document embedding models using Stylo R package (word-based, lemma-based, PoS-trigrams-based, and PoS-mask-based) and one document embedding model using mBERT for each of the seven languages. We created further derivations of these ...Mihailo Škorić, Ranka Stanković, Milica Ikonić Nešić, Joanna Byszuk, Maciej Eder. Flotability of chalcopyrite from the Rudnik deposit
Against the tide: southeast to northwest shelf-edge progradation in the southeastern margin of Lake Pannon, Banat (Serbia and Romania)
In the late Neogene, the Pannonian Basin in Central Europe was filled with sediments when rivers from the Alps and Carpathians shed their sediment load into Lake Pannon. The most powerful source-to-sink system was that of the paleo-Danube, transporting sediments from the NW as far as the southeastern part of the lake. In the southeastern margin of the basin, however, local sedimentary systems worked in the opposite direction, against the “tide” of the prevailing N to S sediment transport. ...Dejan Radivojević, Miloš Radonjić, Lajos Tamás Katona, Imre Magyar. Bogoljub Vučković, Bojan Dimitrijević (2023)The Kostolac-Kovin coal basin with an area of 320 km2, with 5 separate layers of coal and with a total of about 5.7 Bt of geological resources and reserves represents an exceptional potential for coal production in Serbia. The coal resources listed in this way are not fully exploitable, but they represent potential for consideration. In this paper, we deal with the geochemical characteristics of coal seams and perform a comparative analysis of coal affectation on the environment. With ...... the concentrations in our lignite. Multi-elemental analysis of real water samples from the Požega area, Serbia
Improving Document Retrieval in Large Domain Specific Textual Databases Using Lexical Resources
Large collections of textual documents represent an example of big data that requires the solution of three basic problems: the representation of documents, the representation of information needs and the matching of the two representations. This paper outlines the introduction of document indexing as a possible solution to document representation. Documents within a large textual database developed for geological projects in the Republic of Serbia for many years were indexed using methods developed within digital humanities: bag-of-words and named ...Ranka Stanković, Cvetana Krstev, Ivan Obradović, Olivera Kitanović. Upper Cretaceous scaglia type limestone from Klepa Mts. (North Macedonia) - sedimentology and biostratigraphy
The research area is located in the central part of North Macedonia, in the area of the Klepa Mts. Based on sedimentological, micropaleontological and biostratigraphical investigations of samples from both the east and west side of the Klepa Mts., sedimentary rocks of the Upper Creaceous age are determined. During the latest Cretaceous, this area was dominated by the sedimentation of dominantly carbonate rocks with variable amounts of clastic components. Clockwise vertical-axis rotation in the West Vardar zone of Serbia: Tectonic implications
The Vardar-Tethyan mega-suture between the Eurasian and Adria (Gondwana) margins comprises remnants of oceanic lithosphere of Neotethys and distal parts of the adjacent continental margins including unconformable Late Cretaceous sedimentary cover and Cenozoic igneous rocks of post-obduction age. This study provides kinematic constraints for displacements and rotations affecting the Serbian part of the West Vardar and Jadar-Kopaonik units after the closure of the Neotethyan (= Sava) Ocean.
