The first record of nautiloids (Cenoceras intermedius) from the early Pliensbachian of Rgotina, (Getic nappe, eastern Serbia)
Cenoceras intermedius (J. Sowerby) is one of the most widespread species among the Early Jurassic nautiloid fauna and its geological range still controversial up to the present day. The specimen of Cenoceras intermedius from the sandy bioclastic limestones of Rgotina (Getic nappe of eastern Serbia), is a large half conch representing the phragmocone. Viewing our findings in light of previous results suggests the main morphological changes occurred during the ontogenetic evolution. The coiling starts with a round-square whorl section, ...Cephalopoda, Cenoceras intermedius, ontogenetic changes, geological range, northwestern Neo-Tethys, PliensbachianPaul Țibuleac, Barbara V. Witness of the history: A hundred years old the geological hammer of Jovan Zujovic
Improving efficiency of thermal power plants through mine coal quality planning and control
Gordana Gajica, Aleksandra Šajnovic, Jan Schwarzbauer, Aleksandar Kostić, Branimir Jovančićević, Ksenija Stojanović (2021)The molecular and isotopic composition of biomarkers in initial bitumen isolated from raw immature oil shale samples from the Lower Miocene Aleksinac Basin (Serbia) and liquid products (LPs) obtained by pyrolysis in open (OS) and closed systems (CS) are studied. The influence of pyrolysis type and variations of kerogen type on biomarkers composition and their isotopic signatures in LPs is determined. The Late Devonian contraction along the Precaspian Basin north margin: Transpressional range building in the intracratonic domain
Novak Novčić, Marinko Toljić (2023)The evolution of intraplate sedimentary basins located in the vicinity of an active convergent plate boundary is often controlled by the collisional dynamics of the adjacent orogen. The transfer of compression from the orogen to the platform's interior results in the formation of complex structural geometry and kinematics that often reactivate older crustal faults, focus far-field stresses and control the evolution of associated sedimentary basins. One place where this localisation can be optimally understood is the Precaspian Basin, situated ...Intrakratonske deformacije, transpresija, kosa kompresija, krustalni rasedi, intrakratonski transfer stresa, kontrakcioni blokoviNovak Novčić, Marinko Toljić. The use of biological markers in determination of origin and type of organic matter in the Tisza river sediments
Snežana Štrbac, Gordana Gajica, Aleksandra Šajnović, Nebojša Vasić, Ksenija Stojanović, Branimir Jovančićević (2013)The objective of the study was to determine the origin and type of organic matter (OM) of the Tisza recent sediments along the distance of 153 km through the territory of Serbia. For this purpose group organic-geochemical parameters and biomarker compositions were used. All samples contain approximately same amount of OM, which was deposited under uniform, slightly reducing conditions. Based on the distribution of n-alkanes, the origin and type of OM could not be precisely estimated. However, n-alkane patterns ...... (Table III). The n-alkane patterns in range C23–C35 were characterized by a marked odd over even predominance, with a maximum at n-C27 or n-C29, which resulted in high CPI values for full distribution of n-alkanes (C16–C35) and high CPI values in the range C23–C35 (Table III).
